What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is the antidote for modern life…and for the STRESS that we deal with daily. In this unique practice, which combines deep relaxation, meditation and intension to facilitate healing and integration of body, mind and spirit, there is nothing required but to lie down and listen while you relax, heal and transform within every level of being. Yoga nidra is a sleep-based meditation technique which effortlessly takes one to the alpha and theta states of consciousness, far beyond ordinary waking consciousness.
In a nutshell, it is the art of conscious relaxation. You will learn techniques which will allow you to reach new states of conscious awareness with acute perception of both your physical and subtle body. As you practice these techniques you will feel the flow of prana (energy) move through physical, emotional, and energetic blockages. The end result is the healing of the body and mind and the expansion of consciousness.
Through this practice you will achieve greater levels of freedom and health than ever imagined possible. Karen Noonan (creator/founder of Yoganize®, E-RYT 500, Certified Yoga Therapist with IAYT, M.Sc.; Meditation Teacher; Reiki level 2 practitioner; Spiritual Teacher; Life/Health Coach; Certified Yoga Nidra Facilitator at 100+ Hour level), has 34 years of experience and will skillfully guide you every step of the way through this practice devised to release the daily stress that we constantly deal with, so that we feel more whole than ever before.
What To Expect:
A gentle yoga practice followed by a short talk and a Yoga Nidra experience.
Y-CEP credits for teachers available (please let me know in advance)
Beginners to Advanced Yoga Practice
What to wear:
Yoga clothing - we will begin with a 35-40 minute yoga practice to prepare the mind and body for your experience.
What to Bring:
Your beautiful Open Heart and Open Mind
Eye pillow (or something to cover your eyes)
We always have blankets and bolsters at our mini-studio but you need to be comfortable enough to be able to lie on your back, in absolute stillness, for up to 45 minutes, so if you need extra blankets, please do bring what you feel you might need.
